Give your mama a big hug and kiss from me for Mother's Day. She is the best mom in the world.

When Ben was a little boy, about 3 I would guess, Dad read him the original poem. I remember it very clearly. They were sitting on the sofa in the living room in the Daly City house. Ben sat quietly and listened to the whole poem. When Dad finished he asked Ben what he thought the poem meant. Ben put his finger to his mouth, smiled his Cheshire Cat smile, (which he still thankfully has) and said, "Dont be a fly.

Hi Kat!

Thank you so much for the wonderful opportunity for my children to "Become Conductors." Our whole family really enjoyed your recent family concert at CSM, even beyond the thrilling experience of my eldest son, Ethan, actually conducting the orchestra!

Maestra Bejarano did a fantastic job throughout the program highlighting different aspects of the musical experience. From types of instruments to dramatic moments, she brought up so many musical concepts that enhanced the way we listened to the music.

The musicians were more than professional after the event where they shared stories and information and their precious instruments - they were warm, friendly and encouraging. They showed true pleasure in sharing music with children, which was probably my 2nd favorite part of the show.

My very favorite part was, of course, to watch my son conduct the orchestra: a truly special, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

You are more than welcome to use any quote from that blog entry or from this letter! I describe one son sleeping - he sleeps everywhere. I describe another son as saying he's bored; he always says he's bored when he's feeling a little overwhelmed. He was absolutel engaged and learning, and absoutely enjoyed it.

With gratitude,
Katie Lipka

I work for the Peninsula Symphony, and we are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed our Family Concert! And how wonderful that we had such an enthusiastic guest conductor!

We were also wondering if you might give us permission to quote parts of our account in grant applications we write to help fund our non-profit symphony.

If that sounds okay, please let me know. You can email me at kat@peninsulasymphony.org – and please feel free to let me know if you have any questions!

If you move to florida we will move next door. Seriously.
I will hire people to stand in line at starbucks and talk about processing speeds. Or Glen could talk to daniel about processing speeds.
Think of the extra space- if you don't have room for a guest room and a music room then you could have the music room at your house and guests could stay at our house. We could share toys and backyard stuff. We could go to disneyworld all the time! We could live at water parks! We could singlehandedly bring the california ethos to the needy people of florida! No one in california NEEDS glen the way the people of florida do. Let's do it, pleeeeeease!

oh, Katie doesn't know this! Not only did Ariel come to Molly's birthday lunch but so did Jasmine, Cinderella and Aurora- and since Molly has the same skimpy bandeau top as Jasmine she enthusiastically GRABBED HER BOOB and yelled "I HAVE THIS TOP TOO!" Jasmine graciously removed Molly's hand from her boob and smiled but not quickly enough to avoid Molly grabbing her OTHER boob and yelling, "Mine is JUST LIKE YOURS!"
That was fun.
